Move in date is July 1, however our lease is up on the first of September, after which we will be moving into a bigger home with more bedrooms. It is up to you (and us) if you would like to move with us when the time comes. We are mostly looking for queer and LGBTQ+ roommates under 30 years old (queer is optional, under 30 y/o is required). Requires a $375 security deposit, $100 of which is refundable. The other part of that will be put towards you applying to the company we rent from, Progress Residential, and being put on the lease. It's $635 for the room. Note that this rental price does not include utilities, but they typically end up being around $100 per person. COUPLES WELCOME. CHILDREN AND BABIES NOT WELCOME. This is split level house with a basement of three rooms and a bathroom (one room is cloer to the garage, and the other of the rooms is closer to an office space and currently occupied. If you would like to reserve the office for your own private use and not have it shared, let me know. Rent for the bedroom and the office would be $720). The bathroom would be shared with the other basement occupant. Shared kitchen upstairs (stocked). Expansive front yard and back yard (with a grill!). Friendly neighborhood, about 10 minutes from highway 215 and Mountain View. No smoking is allowed inside or in the garage, but the porch is free game. Nicotine vapes are fine inside. Me (23, Rio, nonbinary) and my partner Jay (24, nonbinary) have been living here for the past 3 years with our cat Calypso and a rotating cast of parrots. We are huge nerds and host game nights every week as well as run several D&D games on the weekends. Jay works in AV tech downtown, running many events for the Hyatt Regency. They're usually out the door around 6-7 AM, and sometimes will return late. I help to maintain and clean some Airbnb properties and typically only work midday. We’re both very easy going and tidy. Our policy is that if you make a mess within the shared space, just have it cleaned up within 2 days and we won’t have any issues. We aren’t nosy, but do please keep your space maintained enough that it doesn’t become a problem to the infrastructure/rest of the house (bugs, mold, stains, bad smells, etc won’t fly, but we don’t care about clothes left on the ground). The only things we really require is that you stay on top of rent, help maintain shared spaces such as the kitchen and the yards, and if you have any problems with the way things are going you TALK TO US. We have had issues in the past of roommates being upset over something but not mentioning it until they were so angry it wasn’t healthy. We do not tolerate yelling in anger EVER. Any disputes need to be handled like adults with calm and reasonable conversation. All of this will be signed in a roommate agreement upon you being approved for the lease.
