- $1545 Rent - $60 Flat fee for utilities, including laundry Ivory University House is an amazing place to live, and I have truly enjoyed my time here. The apartments are located right on campus across from Fort Douglas, making it incredibly convenient for students. The LDS Institute and church building are also directly across the street, and the ward is very welcoming and friendly. My building was built in 2023, so everything still feels brand new. The apartment is a true studio and comes fully furnished with a lofted bed, couch, TV stand/storage cabinet, and a full-size kitchen complete with a refrigerator, electric stove, oven, and dishwasher. The space is surprisingly roomy, and I have never had any issues with the apartment. One of the best parts of living at Ivory is the community and amenities. They host monthly activities that are great for meeting people and making friends, often with free food and giveaways. During finals and throughout the summer, residents also receive free snacks, treats, and other perks. Residents have access to a full gym as well as amenities in other Ivory buildings, including study rooms, game rooms, and additional community spaces. Laundry is also incredibly convenient and completely free. On my floor alone, there are two laundry rooms, each equipped with large washers and dryers. All you need to bring is your laundry detergent. Parking is available for an additional fee, which varies each year. The parking lot is secure, regularly patrolled, and I have always felt safe leaving my car there. There are typically plenty of available spaces. That said, many residents choose not to bring a car because of how close the apartments are to campus and other necessities. Another major benefit is that Ivory does not require a meal plan like many other on-campus housing options. This can save you a significant amount of money while allowing you to cook your own meals in your full kitchen. One thing many people do not know is that Ivory offers several housing scholarships. I have lived here for three years and have received a scholarship all three years. The application is free, and in my experience it can cover a substantial portion of housing costs. Many of my friends and neighbors have also received scholarships. I am only selling my contract because I am getting married. Otherwise, I would happily continue living here. Ivory has been a fantastic place to live throughout college, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for convenient, comfortable, and affordable housing near the University of Utah.
